ENG vs IND 4th Test Day 1 Highlights – India Fight Back After Stokes' Early Strikes

India ended Day 1 of the 4th Test vs England at 264/4, showing resilience after losing early wickets. After Ben Stokes won the toss and bowled first, openers Yashasvi Jaiswal (58) and KL Rahul (46) provided a solid start, taking India to 78/0 at lunch.

England bounced back in the second session with wickets from Woakes, Stokes, and Liam Dawson. Skipper Shubman Gill fell for just 12, continuing his poor run.

Debutant Sai Sudharsan impressed with 61 runs, while Rishabh Pant scored 37 before retiring hurt due to a foot injury while reverse sweeping. He was taken off on a stretcher, raising concern for Team India.

By stumps, Jadeja and Thakur were unbeaten at the crease. England’s bowling tightened up later, but India has a strong platform heading into Day 2.
